Meet The Team

Based in Letchworth Garden City, our reputation as one of North Hertfordshire’s principal recruitment agencies is well deserved.  Arena Personnel has successfully recruited temporary and permanent staff to a wide variety of local employers, across a multitude of sectors since 1998.

We recruit for a number of large companies, SME’s, family businesses and charities as well as local councils and schools; helping them all to become more efficient, grow their teams and reach their goals by hiring the very best candidates. Vanessa Kaye

Vanessa has in excess of 21 years of recruitment experience.  Introduced to recruitment through a talent management agency she then went on to work for Arena Staff Agency, Abacus and Dunton Scott before setting up Arena Personnel Ltd with Jenny Barwell in 1998.

Throughout her career and by offering more of a consultative approach to recruitment, Vanessa has successfully cemented long term business relationships; providing both temporary and permanent staff to commercial, industrial, engineering, IT and catering sectors.  She is a natural networker and can speak with ease to anyone from an office cleaner right through to a Senior Executive.

Vanessa is well liked and respected within the industry by clients and candidates alike and it is her approach and recruitment style that makes Arena Personnel the success it is today.

Jenny Barwell

With over 19 years’ experience in recruitment practice plus 11 years working in an office/HR environment, recruiting many different disciplines from office juniors right through to architects and engineers, Jenny has knowledge of recruitment from both sides of the fence.

Having knowledge of how customers think has been paramount to understanding customers’ requirements and to dispel any adverse thoughts they may have on using a recruitment agency.  Jenny has been able to use this experience to assist her team in providing the excellent customer service that Arena Personnel is recognised for today.

Keiron Wilsher

Meet Keiron Wilsher, our Recruitment Consultant.

Keiron has 12 years combined experience as a Resource Planning Team Manager for a major telecommunications company.  Having been responsible for planning and managing the work loads of a high volume of engineers, Keiron’s skills are more than suited to his new role.  His outgoing personality and excellent communication skills make Keiron a perfect addition to our team.  Proving to be hard working, flexible and focused, Keiron is already adding value in running  our busy Temporary desk.  In his spare time (which is quite rare being a Dad of 3 girls) Keiron is a keen photographer, cyclist and Clash of Clans addict!

George Griffin

Meet George Griffin, our newest team member.

Having come from a corporate recruitment background, George’s previous employment experience is proving to serve him well in his new role with us. He has a great understanding of the recruitment process as a whole and his youthful and level headed attitude brings a fresh outlook to the office. He is already proving to have a great connection with both the candidates and clients due to his professional and likeable character. Chefing is another string to George’s bow which ties in nicely with Arena’s Catering side. Having an insight into kitchen and front of house procedures and practices is key to providing restaurants, hotels, café’s and other food outlets with the right calibre of staff first time round.

How were we lucky enough to find George? Well, he found us. He sent his CV in on spec and so impressed were we that an in house interview was quickly arranged where we immediately saw George’s recruitment potential. Sometimes it’s really is “The right place at the right time”. George was offered the Role of Recruitment Coordinator and we are very happy to say that he is doing a great job.

We are confident George will continue to be a valuable member of our team as he assists Keiron to grow the Temporary Desk.

Logan

Logan is a very handsome boy who joined Arena Personnel in January 2011.  He was initially recruited as the Office Shredder but soon demonstrated his good manners and ability to connect with people of all walks of life.  He now meets and greets customers and candidates in reception, entertains us all and keeps our morale high when the going gets tough.   He does a very important job and takes his role seriously (when he’s not sleeping).

Lexi

Lexi is a pretty little lady who joined Arena Personnel in March 2016. Lexi was rescued by Heathlands Animal Sanctuary in Royston and was adopted by our Director Jenny Barwell in February. Lexi was initially recruited as Assistant Office Shredder to Logan but soon demonstrated her ability as Chief Watch Dog and can often be found watching people and dogs from our first floor window that overlooks The Natwest Bank. She is a very friendly little lady who enjoys meeting and greeting customers and candidates in reception. Her tail never stops wagging and she is very happy in her new role here at Arena Personnel Ltd. In the evenings and at weekends she enjoys long walks and playing ball in the garden; when she’s not chasing bikes, motorcycles, runners and pigeons. If you are passing by underneath our office please look up and give our little Lexi a wave if you see her at the window.
