If there was a recruitment World Cup, where would the UK finish? Would we stumble at the quarter finals, losing out to the Swiss with their better grasp of big data? Would we be overall winners, galvanised by our ability to work long hours and get on with our candidates? Or, would the UK hiring lot lose out to Germany – again! – with their uber-low unemployment figures.
Well, according to Adecco, who have compiled a Global Talent Competitive Index, UK recruiters would probably finish 8th. A quarter final finish – much akin to the male English football team.
The recruitment giant’s index, which measures a country’s ability to attract, retain, train and educate skilled workers, found that the UK performs well in diverse hiring and leveraging some global skills based but is let down by weaker performance on tolerance and gender equality.
