2nd Line Support Engineer

Overview: My client is a leading supplier of temporary IT infrastructure to the entertainment industry. They currently have exciting openings for IT Engineers to assist with fulfilling their client’s requirements.


The role will be fast paced and challenging and will require the successful applicant to be knowledgeable in their field and very much be able to display a ‘can do’ attitude and be adept at fault finding and reporting. Their customer’s sites are located all over the UK so a willingness to travel and do overtime at short notice are also key requirements.

2ND Line support role:-
Liaising with customer/engineers and providing regular updates on works in progress.
Maintaining ownership of tasks until resolution, ensuring escalation as required.
Diagnosing and resolving hardware faults.
Diagnosing and resolving network faults.
Understanding of server and Network equipment.
Installation of hardware – may require extensive work on site – including.
Cabling, making up temporary Cat 5e cabling, rack and cabinet layouts.
Performing systems admin duties and probative system checks.
Manual handling is very much part of the role.

Personal Attributes

Excellent desktop/cabling fault finding skills.
Good problem solving skills.
Ability to be self-motivated and work on their own initiative under minimal supervision.
A helpful ‘can do’ attitude.
Fundamental understanding of wiring both mains and network.
Excellent customer facing skills.
Willingness to learn.
Flexibility do to the nature of the business.
Clean full UK driving licence.
Overtime and out of hours work will be required due to the nature of the business.
