Overview: My client is a busy manufacturing business based in Letchworth, Hertfordshire and they are looking for an experienced Office Administrator.
Working in an office situated within a heavily industrial environment, you will be responsible for organising and managing all aspects of the office. You will be a confident and personable person who can deal with customer enquiries confidently over the phone and via email. In addition, you will be happy to liaise with the workforce in the production area, including supervisory staff to ensure procedures and policies are being adhered to.
Your day to day office administration skills will include but not be limited to:
Taking and making phone calls from customers and suppliers
Following up on all email correspondence
Raising purchase order numbers and recording jobs
A small amount of credit control
Organising rotas including holiday management
ordering stationary and other consumable items for the production team
Confidently using Quickbooks to raise invoices
Most importantly, to succeed in this role you will need to be able to take a rather old fashioned paper based job ticket system and help computerise it via Quickbooks or a database system. There is room for discussion on the best way to move this process forward with the owner who has the industry knowledge, and you the candidate who will have experience and ideas. In addition to bringing the processes into the modern age, you will also understand the importance of H&S and be able to monitor use of H&S equipment and liaise with the owner and supervisors to ensure everyone is working safely.
You will be working closely with the business owner and he is looking for a responsible and trustworthy person who is reliable and efficient in running a busy office.
This is an ongoing temporary role that could potentially go permanent in the future
